[YOUTUBE] Caustic Guide Group Modular DSP Import

Hey people, if you have a spare 7 minutes for my rambling, check this video out. I whipped it out so it's more light speed talking but hey.

I show what Caustic Guide can do on the horsepower end.

Take an existing .caustic song file and add Jason's TRANCIT.caustic modular setup right off SCS into my song file using a library Group.

Check it out. Feedback welcome.

Bingo...shows exactly the

Bingo...shows exactly the steps of how to add somebody's Caustic set up into your own. Of course this example can be expanded to include so much, adding to your own library and building up all those bits and pieces all ready to use and add to future projects, this is top bananas, brilliant..the only downside I can see is that I got a message on my tablet the other day, space is reaching capacity..so will have to think how to store files. I have a fair bit on my phone left so might use that as my main device once I get right into this on release

Well if I can get the larger

Well if I can get the larger Caustic user base to support this app, I have plans for DropBox and Firebase cloud storage integrated right into the app.

There is also the external SDCard that I have to support but, that is complicated for me and right now I am more concerned about getting this released.

Thanks for checking out the video. :)

Mike, this is freakin'

Mike, this is freakin' amazing to see this finally a "real deal".

Well done.   I think, when serious Caustic users grasp this methodology, this tool here will really take off for you.    The ability to transfer automation events into your templates is just perfect, as demonstrated by my "Trance It" Builderz Pro preset, as you added it to your existing project (and no longer have to start from scratch when using my Builderz Instrumentals tools...... you can even load multiple events up now, for some really big massive synth action -- the possibilities are endless now, especially when you toss in a MIDI keyboard into the mix.

It's been my dream to see something like this, and you just made it happen.   Let's see FLSx do this wink

I remember seeing a video of

I remember seeing a video of the Edge from U2 and his guitar effects setup he uses to create some of his epic sounds.  The thing is this giant cube of machinery that just looks monstrous.

I think of Guide like that, only not large, not monstrous, it just opens up the possibility to make big stuff with Caustic, save it to a library, so you can bring them back into any Caustic project you start working on.  It has been a great ride getting to help with the creation of these projects, and there really is a lot more to come.  The whole idea of sound packs is going to break wide open with this.

And Guide is just the beginning.  More apps are being developed to take advantage of what Guide creates.  Caustic + Guide + Remix and other apps being thought about are going to be a mobile musicians dream come true.

Yeah, all toll this was about

Yeah, all toll this was about 3 years of on/off development. There is serious programming driving this app, not really apparent to the user. Not only did I have to make the app, I had to write the whole framework with every OSC message that takes to the Caustic Core. On top of that I had to write and test the whole library framework. :)

Needless to say, my wife was ready to kill me.

I did for get to mention that it looks like it might be tedious to some that watch the video but you only have to create the Group once.I might also create a Template type or allow a Template to be linked to a .caustic file, where when you load the Template it will auto update itself and you can then keep adding or removing things and save it out again using some type of file naming scheme. That is just in the air but there are many ways I can increase workflow between the two apps.

Oh yeah, for others, Remix

Oh yeah, for others, Remix can load these Templates you make in Guide. And Guide can load the Templates you make, edit and sequence, in Remix. :)

I have about 3-4 feet of snow pack right now, driving up my driveway feels like I am going through a tunnel.
